St. Wave is an artist  developing his own lane in the current industry. Inspired by artists like Lupe Fiasco, Pharrel Williams, Kid Cudi, and Mac Miller, he has managed to create a unique sound that is true to him and the message he hopes to convey.

When talking about how he got started in music, he states: “It kind of found me.” St. Wave said it all started with him receiving a notebook from one of his teachers growing up. From there, he just started writing and it eventually became his way of expression. Turning these little written ideas and more into music came naturally to the artist, eventually becoming the most addicting form of expression for him.

When it comes to his sound, St. Wave describes it as cinematic and emotive with introspective lyrics. He says he has a dark sound sonically but it has a hopeful and positive spirit. ”Versatility is my whole backbone,” he says while discussing the genres his music falls into, describing it as a blend of alternative hip-hop blended with R&B and pop music. Pulling from artists like Mac Miller and Kanye West who have an array of genre-bending sounds and projects in their catalogues, St. Wave is able to create a sound that never feels bland. Which allows him to explore his creativity through the music he makes.

When asked what his future as an artist looks like, St. Wave gave an answer that shows what sets him apart as an artist. He said his main goal is to create a unique lane and path that is impactful and builds a strong community and movement. He hopes to be able to tour regularly and continually build this community through his art.

Describing himself as “one of those artists that really grow with you over time,” he says his music is for those that feel like they are wandering through life in search of their purpose. He shows that he knows his message and has the vision to build a community off of that message.

St. Wave just dropped his most recent album this past November titled “Wavelength.” He says it focuses on dealing with imposter syndrome and the emotions that come with working through that. Coming off of that, he is dropping his newest single, a house-sounding and fun record, titled XCUZE ME,” on March 19.
