Suego: Building his Sound

Updated: Feb 21

How the Name ‘Suego’ Came to Be

For Suego, the journey to his artist name was a creative process in itself. Originally drawing inspiration from a compliment—"fire"—he received for his style, he wanted something unique yet authentic. Taking bits from his own name and blending it with "Sway Boogie," he reinvented his identity, crafting a moniker that reflects both his confidence and evolution as an artist.

Life of Suego

From Freestyle to Full-Time Passion

Growing up, Suego was always rapping in school, working on punchlines and crafting clever phrases. His uncle emphasized the importance of writing down lyrics, a lesson that shaped his disciplined approach to music. With a mother who sang and a stepfather who produced beats, the foundation for a music career was laid early on.

Over the years, Suego honed his craft, spending 18 years writing and three years mastering drill rap. He studied the ever-changing landscape of the industry, refining his ability to switch flows, understand lingo, and perfect composition techniques. His sharp wordplay and clever lingo set him apart, proving that lyricism is just as crucial as delivery.

Influences That Shaped His Sound

Suego’s music is a reflection of the artists who inspired him. From the gritty storytelling of Kevin Gates to the melodic genius of Cash Cobain, he draws from both old-school and modern influences. Legends like Biggie, 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and Eminem provided him with a blueprint of raw authenticity and lyrical mastery. Their music resonated with his personal story, making his own style deeply relatable.
