If you’ve ever wondered what happens when an independent artist follows a gut feeling all the way across the world… Tony Newbury just gave us the blueprint.
Fresh off a whirlwind run through India, Tony sat down with Stellar Reports to break down how the tour came together, what he learned, and why this trip might’ve changed his entire career trajectory.
Spoiler alert: this story involves manifestation, a tattoo shop stage, and building a fanbase halfway across the globe.
Let’s get into it.
Tony describes the culture shock as “beautifully chaotic.” From food that humbled his taste buds to traffic patterns that could be their own sport, everything felt new. It was the type of eye-opening experience that only travel can give. However, Tony wasn’t alone — he toured with Dhun (a friend he met in Jersey just a year ago) and Raz, an artist from Mumbai who reached via DMs on Instagram. New city, new friends, new energy.
Hearing strangers in another country react to his music in real time? That lit something in Tony Newbury. It reminded Tony why he creates in the first place — to connect. Seeing how many opportunities exist internationally opened Tony’s eyes. Being on tour gave Tony something artists rarely get: headspace. Time to reflect. Space to realize he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

A lot of great stories start with “you won’t believe how random this was,” and Tony’s is no exception.
It all began in mid-2024 when Tony met Dhun through songwriter S0ulfood. After a studio session, Dhun casually mentioned he once organized a tour in India for his college acapella group. Tony told him he’d actually been running ads in India and had the beginnings of a fanbase out there. Dhun looked at him and said the magic words: “Let’s make it happen.”
One year later… it happened.
But here’s the part that’ll make you believe in divine timing: long before meeting Dhun, Tony had told himself he wanted to perform in India someday. Then the right people, opportunities, and timing aligned. That’s manifestation with receipts.
Tony’s message is simple but powerful: your mindset will carry you further than talent alone.

Things were not alwasy smooth while on tour, things will go wrong — like the day before their second show, when the event was suddenly canceled over noise complaints. A normal person would panic. Dhun? He went into problem-solver mode, remembering a tattoo shop with a stage from his open mic days. They booked it, pulled up, performed, and turned what could’ve been a disaster into a highlight.
The lesson: roll with the punches. Let negativity stay on the sidelines. Keep going.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR TONY NEWBURY?
Tony is keeping the momentum strong:
New track with WESTSIDE BOOGIE — a remix of “DOPAMINE” from the FOREVER GOOD album.
Possibly an end-of-year tour to close out 2025 with a bang.
And based on what we’ve seen so far? This is only the beginning.
